Wedding FAQs
1. What is the payment structure for my wedding?
You will have paid a non-refundable deposit of £500 to secure your wedding date. We then ask that an additional £500 is paid nine months out from your wedding day. Finally, we ask that 95% of the bill is settled by ten days out from the wedding day. The remining 5% is paid upon check out the next morning.
2. How late am I able to make final changes to number of guests attending my wedding?
Cut off for final changes to numbers is three days out from your wedding date. Please note, the day of your wedding is not included in the 3 days and minimum adult numbers as per contract also apply.
3. Do your prices include VAT?
Yes, all our pricing is inclusive of VAT.
4. What is my cancellation policy?
Full details of your cancellation policy can be found in the terms & conditions section of your signed contract.
5. Is Leighinmohr licensed to hold civil ceremonies?
Yes, Leighinmohr is fully licensed to hold civil ceremonies in our Ballroom and new Garden Room due Spring 2025. Your registrar will come from Mid & East Antrim Borough Council. We are also able to host religious, humanists and spiritualist ceremonies.
6. How long does a civil ceremony normally last?
Civil ceremonies normally last around 20 minutes. This can be extended if you wish with songs, readings and poetry.
7. How many guests can Ballroom and Garden Room hold for civil ceremonies?
Our ballroom can hold up to x 150 and our Garden Room will be planned to hold x 150.
8. Are there areas on site for wedding photography to be taken?
Yes, included in your wedding booking with Leighinmohr is the use of our lounge, gardens and conservatory area for photographs.
9. How many guests can the ballroom hold for evening reception?
The ballroom can comfortably hold a minimum of 50 seated guests and a maximum of 250.
10. Can I arrange to get ready at Leighinmohr and stay the night before?
Yes, you may be able to stay at Leighinmohr the night before your wedding. However, this will depend on whether we have a wedding on the day before. Please highlight if you wish to stay the night before with your wedding planner and we can discuss if this is possible.
11. What time does evening entertainment finish?
Evening entertainment end at 1am and we ask that all non-resident guests are off site by 1:30am.
12. Is there a Residents Bar option?
Yes, this can be arranged for an additional fee and runs until 3am.
13. Can we set up the room with décor for our wedding day?
We ask that décor and favours are dropped off to the hotel the night before your wedding. We will get them placed for you the next day. Any large items such as floral arches, candy carts etc must be delivered on the day of the wedding.
14. Do we have to pack up our personal items at the end of the night?
No, our dedicated wedding team will be on hand to neatly pack away any personal items and will leave them by the bar area in the ballroom for you to collect upon check out the next morning. These must be cleared away no later than 11am.
15. How many people can be seated at the top table?
Our top table can hold a minimum of 2 and maximum of 14.
16. How many guests can be seated at our circular tables?
Guest tables can hold a minimum of 6 guests and maximum of 10.
17. Are highchairs available?
Yes, we have highchairs available for your little guests.
18. Can we play our own music?
Yes, you can play your own music during drinks reception and evening meal. We ask that music is downloaded on to a phone/iPad with the ability to connect to an AUX lead.
19. Can Leighinmohr cater to all dietary requirements?
Yes, we pride ourselves in our ability to cater to all needs and dietary requirements including Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Lactose Free etc.
20. Are we allowed to have fireworks at Leighinmohr?
Fireworks are not permitted due to the fact we are in a residential area. However, sparklers are allowed and can be used outdoors.
21. Can confetti be thrown at Leighinmohr?
Confetti is not permitted inside or outside the premises.
22. Are alcoholic wedding favours allowed at Leighinmohr?
Alcoholic wedding favours are not allowed at the hotel.
23. Are we permitted to give out alcoholic gifts?
Ideally no, or once they have been given the wedding co-ordinator will safely store them away. They will be returned upon check out the following morning.
24. Can we bring our wedding cake the night before the wedding?
We cannot accept responsibility for any cakes being stored overnight and therefore would prefer delivery on the day of the wedding.
25. Are we permitted to bring our own Crisp Wall into the hotel?
No, the hotel has a Crisp Wall that you can hire.
26. Do you allow Corkage?
No, we do not have a corkage policy.
27. Is the meal plated or silver served?
All meals are silver served, providing you and your guests with a more personal and professional service.
28. Do we have to leave the room after dinner?
No, we ask your guests to move to the soft seating area in the ballroom so we can move tables off the dancefloor, this normally takes about 20 minutes.
29. Do you offer menu tasting as part of our package?
No, we do not offer menu tasting.
30. Do you use round or long tables for dinner?
Round tables are used as this provides a more interactive experience for your guests.
